How I work
We would have an initial appointment where we explore your concerns and expectations and you have the opportunity to ask any questions about counselling and how we would work together. Research has shown that it is the relationship between the counsellor and the client that is the most significant factor for a positive outcome in therapy, so it is important for you to feel comfortable with me. Should we decide to go forward we will agree an estimated time scale; maybe only a few sessions will be needed to work through a specific concern while exploring more deep seated issues can take longer. We will review our work together at regular intervals.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and couple therapy is one hour long.
£60 per session for individuals and £90 per session for couples.
I charge a reduced rate of £35 for individuals and £55 for couples for our introductory session when we ascertain whether counselling will be of benefit for you.
Payment is made by cash or cheque at the beginning of each session.
Understandably appointments may need to be cancelled. Provided I have a minimum of 24 hours notice, no cancellation fee is due. With less than 24 hours notice, the full session fee is due.
